Christmas has been super good to me this year. Apart from getting tons of lovely presents, my hubby and I got lots of cash… which of course, came in handy since we were planning on doing reno over the holiday, plus we needed a new couch and I needed a new phone, etc.

BUT! I managed to still save us money. I found a perfect couch at United Furniture Warehouse, but Johnny and I were fighting over the one I wanted and the one he wanted (both of which looked almost identical anyway). So we decided to stew it over for a day. We went back the next day, and the couch I wanted had been reduced from 699$ to 499$! Done and done. It came to about 600$ with GST and delivery, but come on guys - a large, brand new, suede(ish) couch for only 600$. I’ll post pictures, it’s gorgeous.

As for my phone, of course I wanted an iPhone, especially after playing with my Mom’s (it really is a beautiful machine). But I didn’t want to pay the 350$ they wanted me to pay for an upgrade (not too bad considering the original price is what, 600$+, but still). I wanted to pay the promotional price of 199$. Anyway, I called Rogers, and they said that while they couldn’t adjust the price of my upgrade, they could offer me a “refreshed” iPhone, which is basically one that’s been returned, had no more than 30 minutes of usage, and was tested by Apple to ensure perfect workability - for only 149$. They assured me that there would be nothing wrong with the phone, and that they’d been offering the program for over 3 months, and there hasn’t been any negative feedback. So of course, I got it! An iPhone, for only 150$! I’m ecstatic.

As for reno, Johnny is painting the dining room area “ruffled lilac” which is a nice soft shade of purple… again, I’ll post pics. The beauty has to be seen to be believed.

That’s it for now. Pics of baby’s first Christmas on the way…
