They say you should “let go” the way you would let go of a burning hot object, which I think is easier said than done. However, they also say that in order for you to let go, you have to really want to let go; and there, my friends, lies the rub.

Yogi Jr.
My son and I just finished our very first (official!) yoga sequence together! First of all I want to remind you that he is still a baby; in fact, he turns 2 next week. Also, he’s always been a fan of jumping on me during my yoga practice (hence said practice can only really exist behind closed doors or during nap time) and randomly going into Downward Dog once in a while.
But tonight he...

How could I have just discovered this?
PG Cravings
You know how people always ask pregnant women if they’ve had any funny cravings, such as pickles and ice cream? (Seriously, I’ve heard more than one person ask a pregnant woman or her husband about “pickle and ice cream” cravings). Well, I was thinking - is that so weird?
See, I like pickles. I also like ice cream. There are lots of people who dip their french fries in ice...

This was the peak pose in the sequence I taught today, except I modified it by doing it at the wall.
Oh wow, what a moron.
I’m officially tired. Of my job. I mean it’s great, I’m still feeling very lucky to have it, but wow - I cannot wait to graduate and be an LPN. Being a PCA is just so tediously tiring.
Or maybe I’m just getting tired of working. Last week, I worked five days in a row - big whoop, yes - but it was the first time I had worked five days in a row in over...

So, I know that I promised I would start blogging regularly when I started my clinical. Then, I said that if I was too busy to blog about being a student nurse during clinical (which I definitely was), then I would blog about being a nursing attendant while attending nursing college via distance ed.
But here we are, 2 months later. No regular blog posts. Sorry. Too busy? Well, always, but...

Practicum: Day 1
Parking was… difficult, to say the least. They had street cleaning scheduled today, which confused most of us. I just parked at the mall, which I’m not supposed to do, but whatever. We were only there for a couple of hours anyway.
So, today was orientation. And that’s what happened. A tour of the continuing care center… A chat about expectations… A scavenger...

4 more days till practicum! I’m soooooo excited.
Baby started daycare this last Monday, and seems to be enjoying it. He’s not cranky at home, which tells me that he didn’t have a terrible day; when I leave him with a babysitter that he’s not entirely too fond of, he gets really testy and cranky and increasingly attached when I get home and for like, two weeks afterward....
A New Dawn
So a couple of days ago (Tuesday), I went to my first Buddhism class/secular meditation at Gadem Samten Ling, and it was wonderful. I first discovered Buddhism a couple of years ago after reading “Buddhism Plain & Simple” (highly recommended), which was one of those serendipitous impulse buys. Anyway, the book “called” to me, and I pretty much swallowed it whole right...
This is what I love about Tumblr! It’s just the cutest interface. Thank you for the Theme Garden guys, and especially, for making it so easy to install a new theme… Here I go…!
Not gonna lie… This post is here just for the sake of it being here.
So that I can say that yeah, I do blog once in a while.
Do you have any idea how many years of my life were spent identifying myself with my online identity? I truly believed that if you didn’t have a website, you didn’t exist. And by website, I don’t mean Facebook.
Not anymore, of course.
Anyway, as...

I uploaded a couple of very cute pictures of bebe on Facebook.
I miss Tumbling. I wanna start again.
I’m procrastinating. I’ve got caffeine in my system, and lots of things to study for. After I blog, I promise.
As soon as my clinical practicum starts (in May), I’m going to start a nursing blog. Well, what I mean is, I’m going to do my best to blog about my nursing...

I’m a Balanced Yogi!
A Balanced Yogi
You love your friends unconditionally and accept them for who they are no matter what their yoga style preference, religious beliefs, or spending habits. You focus on the good in people and would never try to change them. Almost everyone feels comfortable in your presence. You live your yoga. You are an inspiration to yoga students everywhere!

Speaking of spoons...
We have no more spoons. Seriously. There are like, four, in my drawer. Probably cuz the baby LOVES spoons…
I bet they’re under the couch.
I need a metal detector.
Who the hell “runs out” of spoons?!?!
What Being a Parent Has Done To Our Brains

Johnny: What?
Me: They should make double-ended spoons.
Johnny: I was thinking that too!

Christmas has been super good to me this year. Apart from getting tons of lovely presents, my hubby and I got lots of cash… which of course, came in handy since we were planning on doing reno over the holiday, plus we needed a new couch and I needed a new phone, etc.
BUT! I managed to still save us money. I found a perfect couch at United Furniture Warehouse, but Johnny and I were fighting...

After almost a year, I am knitting and crocheting again. All is right with the world.
This is the way you left me, I’m not pretending. No hope, no love, no glory, no happy ending. This is the way that we love, like it’s forever. Then live the rest of our life, but not together.

Skin care for hippies (like me).
I have a theory: maybe the reason they didn’t recast Katie Holmes as Rachel in The Dark Knight is because Aaron Eckhart would be playing her love interest - yet again - and it would look all too familiar…
After finishing The Tao of Pooh and The Te of Piglet, I told myself that I would re-read The Tao of Pooh again and again, until I had memorized it. Because doing so would surely change my life, as simply reading the book has - or at least had, because of course, I started to forget. But I didn’t. It was a simple task, one that was guaranteed to bring me eternal joy and insight, but I...
How To Talk Like a Canadian
The Infamous “Aboot”
First up: Canadians do not say “aboot”. Let me say this again: THEY DO NOT SAY “ABOOT”. However. They do not pronounce it the way we (American/British/etc accented people) do. They pronounce it quite literally, actually. Take the word, “about”, and then take out the “a”. What are you left with? Boat. A - boat....

Gorgeously Green →
Okay, so I’ve always been a hippie - at least spiritually. And I’ve always wanted to be a true green, clean, hippie machine, but never really knew how to start (or was always kind of half-baked about it). I do reuse and recycle like no one’s business, though! Anyway, read this book. May it change your life the way it’s changed mine.
Why Tumblr?
Honestly, I don’t need the pressure. Yes, having a blog proper is pressure. There’s always that itching feeling at the back of your head that you’ll be disappointing somebody if you don’t write out a long, interesting post on a semi-daily basis. The pressure is even worse if you’re paying for your blogging service (which I still am, for some stupid reason).
Not that...
